The Nevada Student Alliance is the overarching student government association for all NSHE student government organizations. The purpose of the NSA is to promote, foster, advance, represent, and protect the interests and welfare of the students of the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Boris Carpio Guerra is a first-generation Latino student majoring in Human Development & Family Science. Currently he is the Student Body President for the University of Nevada, Reno. He is excited to launch the Empower Nevada platform focused on empowering all students at this University through these three values People drive Change, Passion drives Purpose, and Connection drives Growth.

Matthew Hawn
President, Graduate Student Association (GSA)
University of Nevada Reno
Matthew Hawn is Ph.D. student in the Cellular Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology (CMPP) Program and a Master in Business Administration Student. He has lived in Reno his entire life, and the University holds a very special place in his heart. He is the current President of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) at the University of Nevada, Reno.
In his free time Matthew enjoys volunteering for various organizations such as Enactus and the Reno Rodeo Association. As part of Enactus Matthew received 2nd Place in the Executive Leader of the Year in 2019 and helped raise over $20,000 for a recycling project at the University of Nevada. As a 10-year member of the Reno Rodeo Association, Matthew Has served on the Sponsor’s committee which helped raise over $2.1 million for the organization in 2019.
Through his experience and education, Matthew plans on working in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry with a focus on filling positions that overlap business and research.
Pio Rejas

Pio Rejas is a first-generation student majoring in Political Science. Pio is originally from Peru and wants to add a different perspective to Nevada’s education. During his free time, Pio plays the drum and the bass. On campus, Pio is the President of the Latino Student Alliance, a member of the generation dreamers club, and of course the President of the Associated Students of the College of Southern Nevada. His goal is to ensure that all the voices in the community are being heard and that every person can achieve, succeed and prosper.

Kevin Osorio Hernández (he/him/él) is a dedicated native of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a proud first-generation Guatemalan American. Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in History pre-law at Nevada State, Kevin is an enthusiastic and influential leader within both the Southern Nevada community and his college campus. With an unwavering commitment to public service, Kevin’s aspirations lie in a future career in public policy. He hopes to represent the people of Nevada as a future policymaker by working towards effective and impactful change in the community.
Kevin firmly believes that everyone deserves a seat at the table, especially students. With an inclusive mindset, he recognizes the importance of diverse perspectives and actively works towards ensuring that all voices are heard and valued. Kevin is dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable environment where students feel empowered to contribute their ideas and experiences.
Brayson Gomez

Brayson Gomez is a Reno/Sparks native and is currently pursuing an associate of science degree at TMCC. Brayson started his journey with the TMCC High School program, which he is still attending. Brayson is currently in his senior year of high school as well as his final year at TMCC. He is planning to become an EMT and aspires to go to medical school in the future. Brayson is the 2023-2024 TMCC Student Government President, where he represents over 9,000 diverse students.
He is excited to be serving TMCC and its students as well as serving on the NSA. During his term, Brayson wants to focus on student advocacy helping to be the voice for students who aren’t heard. Additionally, he wants to increase the SGA’s presence in TMCC and throughout the community, helping students in Northern Nevada.
Suzanna Stankute

President, Associated Students of Western Nevada (ASWN)
Western Nevada College
Suzanna Stankute is serving the 2023-2024 term with ASWN (Associated Students of Western Nevada) as the Western Nevada College Student Body President. This is her second term as ASWN President and she is excited to serve her constituents again! She is pursuing her Associate of Applied Science degree in Deaf Studies with plans to transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno for a BA in English. Suzanna is inspired by her peers at WNC who lit her passion for creative writing and learning about the Deaf Community.
Suzanna hopes to become an ASL Interpreter while she continues to write novels and screenplays in her free time. As a former homeschool student, Suzanna advocates for dually enrolled students on her campus and ensures that their voices are heard. Suzanna plans to use her previous knowledge to reassess ASWN’s role on her campus and explore new ways to serve the students of Western Nevada College. 
Nicole Thomas
President, Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA)
University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Nicole Thomas is a Las Vegas native currently pursuing graduate studies in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in Science Education. She previously received a B.S. in Biology with a focus in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and she has worked as a research assistant both at UNLV and at the Desert Research Institute (DRI).
Nicole is currently the 2021-2022 President of the Graduate & Professional Student Association, where she represents over 4,000 graduate and professional students. Additionally, she serves as the Graduate Assistant for CSUN, the undergraduate student government, where she assists in advising committees and working with students individually to meet their goals.
Upon graduation, she plans to continue her work in advocacy, policy, and science education while remaining involved with higher education in Nevada.
Makayla Franklin
President, Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada (CSUN)
University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Makayla Franklin is in her fourth year of college and is majoring in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Event Planning. She is also minoring in Spanish and Human Resources. In her CSUN position, she now serves the entire body as the Student Body President of UNLV to help nourish the sense of community on campus. Additionally, Makayla serves students who live on campus through her role as President of the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Makayla also represents UNLV through her position as an Orientation Leader, Executive Position on the board for the Black Student Organization and is a proud member as well as the Vice President of the Eta Chi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Her pathway into becoming a bigger and better student leader is what motivates her to advocate for an unforgettable college experience. Makayla’s primary goal is to provide an equitable space for all students at UNLV to show that you too belong here in the UNLV Family.
